Tzedakah and Chesed in Eretz Yisroel

Purim is a joyous day for the entire Jewish people. But for thousands of poor families in Israel, Purim is a day that makes the pain of their ever-present hunger and neediness even more difficult to bear.

While most are exchanging elaborate Mishloach Manos and celebrating Purim together at lavish festive meals, some families have next to nothing to put on the table. They sit at their Purim table contemplating the state of poverty and desperation they find themselves in.

But there is something you can do for these families. Ohr HaTorah wants to help you celebrate Purim together with your needy brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisroel. Ohr HaTorah works hard before Purim to identify how to lift these families out of the situations they have fallen into, and sets our fund raising goal accordingly. This year we have identified over 110 families to assist and require 600,000 shekels (over $165,000) to change their lives.

Help 30 single parent families – widows, divorced mothers, children with no father – see joy on Purim.

Help 25 families with a sick family member – a sick child, a sick mother, a sick father. Help them forget their pain on this day of Simcha.

Help over 110 families, over 1000 people, turn their ever-present frown into a smile on this holiday.

Last year we hand-delivered over 500,000 shekels, bringing long-term relief to over 100 families, and this year we aim to distribute more!
